2012 Registration Guidelines

200 AMATEUR NON-EXEMPT spots available (opens March 1, 2012 at 8:00am Mountain Standard Time)
-Available for Amateur riders only. Pro racers must qualify for exempt status (see below)
-First come, first serve by online pre-registration
-Link to registration will be available on this page.
-Purchased non-exempt spots are non-refundable, but are transferable.
-Transfers must be communicated to info@bigskyxc.com by August 10.
-After August 10, spots are non-refundable and non-transferable.
-AMA membership is required for all racers

Exempt guidelines:
-Available for both Pro and Amateur classes. (see below)
-Purchased exempt spots are non-refundable, but are transferable to other qualified exempt racers.
-Transfers must be communicated to info@bigskyxc.com by August 10.
-After August 10, pre-registered spots are non-refundable and non-transferable.
-Online access is available at the resort and online race standings will be verified by a race official prior to finalizing registration.
-If a race official is unable to verify a racer's exempt status, he/she will not be cleared to compete. It is the exempt racer's responsibility to ensure online standings are correct prior to travelling to Big Sky.
-AMA membership is required for all racers.
PRO CLASS exempt qualification:
1) Top 20 in one of the following series* (2011 final standings or 2012 YTD as of July 15):
AMA West Hare Scrambles Series
AMA East Hare Scrambles Series
AMA National Enduro
AMA Endurocross
AMA National Hare & Hound
Canadian National Enduro Series
GNCC
OMA
WORCS
*top 20 must be the result of obtaining points at 50% of 2011 or 2012 YTD
2) Champion of one of above series in the past 10 years.
3) Overall series winner: 2011 Endurocoss Open Amateur Class
4) Top 10 at one of the following events (2011 or 2012):
Idaho City ISDE Qualifier
Xtinction (Canada)
Tennesse Knockout
Last Dog Standing
2011 KLIM Big Sky XC
5) All past winners of the Big Sky XC (Pro, AA, 450A, 250A)
AMATEUR CLASSES exempt qualification
Top 10 in one of the following series class standings* (2011 final standings or 2012 YTD as of July 15):
AMA West Hare Scrambles Series
AMA East Hare Scrambles Series
AMA National Enduro
AMA Endurocross
AMA National Hare & Hound
Canadian National Enduro Series
GNCC
OMA
WORCS
Montana XC
Rocky Mtn Enduro Series
WEBE Racing
*top 5 in standings must be the result of obtaining points at a minimum of 2 events.
-additional amateur series promoters may apply for exempt status in writing. Must include website for series points standings.
50cc, 65cc, 85cc JR, Girls class registrations are all considered Exempt.
Racers earning exempt status from 2011 final standings are allowed to change classes for the '12 event. (examples: can move from 250 to 450 or from B to A classes)
