2010 EVENT  INFORMATION

Race Info:


96 DB sound check at sign up. Come prepared, no refunds for failed tests. Spark Arrester and AMA membership are required (AMA membership sign-up will be available at the registration table).

Base Area Elevation: 7,500 ft. No jetting area. Come pre-jetted or sign up for the unclassified event.

Course consists of technical mountain terrain. Expect rocks, steep climbs, switch backs, single tracks, access trails, etc. Saturday’s course will be a shortened, less technical version of the Sunday courses.

AMA District 36 transponders and system. Used at all 2010 West Hare Scrambles races except Elkton, Oregon.

                                                                                                                                                                               

Unclassified:


An organized practice. Youth (excluding 50cc class) and C class racers may enter in the Saturday morning unclassified #1 event. Sunday racers may enter in the unclassified #2 event on Saturday afternoon.

                                                                                                                                                               

Camping and parking:


Camping is available for racers only in the pit area. Water and electric hook-ups are NOT available. Quiet hours start every night at 7pm. Any bikes started up between the hours of 7pm and 8:30am will be disqualified from the weekend’s racing without refund. Gate pass credentials will be required for all vehicles. Gate pass credentials are free for anyone with proof of accommodations from Big Sky Resort Central Reservations. Gate Passes are good for the entire weekend. Purchase upon arrival.

Saturday Awards Dinner (7:00pm):


Open to all participants. No reservations required. Located at the Whiskey Jack’s Saloon in the Mountain Mall.

Directions:


From North:
Exit 298 off Interstate 90. South on Hwy 291, which turns into Hwy. 191. Continue south on Hwy. 191 for 39 miles. Take a right at the Big Sky stoplight 3-way intersection onto Hwy 64. Go west 9 miles to the “Welcome to Big Sky Mountain Village” sign.

From South: Head north out of West Yellowstone, MT on Hwy 287/191. Approximately 10 miles north of West Yellowstone, Hwy 287 turns to the west, but you will continue straight on Hwy 191. You will pass through a corner of Yellowstone Park along the 47 mile route. You will be near the turn to Big Sky (Hwy 64) when you pass an elementary school on the left and several commercial businesses on the right.  At the Conoco gas station turn west (left) on Hwy 64 then follow the same directions above to the Mountain Village.
